Sara Elphick

Sara brings over 20 years of passionate gardening experience to our team, backed by an impressive array of qualifications in Permaculture (2006), Horticulture (2008), and Garden Design (2023). Her hands-on experience spans market gardening, working in a native tree nursery, and commercial composting.
Sara's professional life bridges the world of hands-on garden design, where she brings ecological landscapes to life, and the academic realm, where she teaches and tutors secondary-level mathematics and physics, empowering students to describe and understand the natural systems that shape our surroundings.
In addition to her connection to sustainable gardening, Sara holds a Master’s degree in Medical Physics, with further training with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, with a focus on ultrasound, diagnostic radiology, and radiotherapy, including radiation protection. Her unique exceptional fusion of scientific expertise and ecological wisdom makes her an invaluable asset to Tahitanga.
We’re thrilled to have Sara guiding the development of our grounds, ensuring they reflect our values of conscious, sustainable living and a deep respect for the land as well as her advisory guidance with our Imaging centre. Her insight and generosity are a true blessing to our team! If you would like to contact Sara and know more, please visit her website here.
